Contexto socioeconómico y nacionalismo de bienestar en la zona del euro tras la Gran Recesión

Resumen

Este estudio analizó la asociación entre el contexto socioeconómico post-Gran Recesión y la solidaridad de la población de la Eurozona hacia las personas inmigrantes. Se ha utilizado análisis multinivel con datos de la Encuesta Social Europea (Ronda 8, 2016), y estadísticas de Eurostat y de la OCDE. En particular, hemos evaluado si la tasa de población en riesgo de pobreza/exclusión social en 2016 se relacionó con actitudes favorables a la exclusión de las personas inmigrantes del derecho a recibir servicios sociales. Nuestros resultados confirmaron la existencia de tal relación, en consonancia con teorías que explican que la competencia por escasos recursos compromete la solidaridad entre grupos sociales. Sin embargo, hemos identificado que ciertos factores, como preferencia por el valor universalismo, o la persistencia de indicadores de pauperización durante el periodo 2011-2016, pueden haber actuado como protección frente a las actitudes excluyentes. Se incluyen propuestas para la intervención e investigación social.
